Grew up in the Delta not far from the “Crossroads” and was weaned on gospel singing, blues music, and barbeque. Etched memories are from a childhood home in the cotton fields, surrounded by family members who played a plethora of musical instruments including guitar, piano, harmonica, bass, organ, banjo, and fiddle. ”My humble beginnings gave me a great appreciation for blues music. I could taste it, and feel the vibrations of sadness, depravity, and loneliness that made this original American music form.” After getting his first guitar at the age of five JC went on to playing at county fairs when as a sixth grader. “Music is a gift, an outlet, and an escape that simultaneously grounds you. One cannot resist swaying, tapping your foot, or dancing when you hear music; the sounds that reverberate your soul.”
